The Belarusian Association of UNESCO Clubs together with the "Bridges for Education" continue the implementation of the project on carrying out the International Conversational English Language Camps in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and announces an open competition for candidates to take part in these camps.

International Language Camp will be held in Belarus from July 5 to July 25 2008 and gather 70 Belarusian and 30 foreign students 14-18 years old. The camp site in Belarus is situated at the Minsk Regional Boarding School for deaf children at Zhdanovichi village in the Minsk Region. Besides Belarusian students, there will be students from other countries as well. There is a strict requirement - studying of English at least during one year. We hope the English language will become a real bridge for mutual understanding, cultural tolerance and friendship between Belarus and other countries and it will help to break down stereotypes and to establish new contacts between nations.

The purpose of linguistic camps is to provide communicative atmosphere for children from different countries, create conditions for improving conversational English language skills, to promote tolerance and understanding using English as a bridge and to enable participation in cultural and social activities.

Apart from the educational program, the camp activities will also include a cultural program. Such holidays as Kupalie, Countries Day, Name-day, carnival, fancy-dress ball, discos, other recreational activities are in the camp schedule. Week-end's activities include two bus trips.
